Main Dish

Fancy a delicious dish without spending hours in the kitchen? Our Juliette-inspired "lazy" recipe is for you! Ready in a flash, it's super-easy to prepare thanks to a few simple tricks: cut the vegetables while the meat is cooking, and toss the noodles while the filling finishes cooking in the pan. And what's more, it's an ultra-modulable recipe: replace the pasta with sautéed rice, the vegetables with your favorites... Let's be creative! We explain it all in our detailed recipe right here ↓↓ And we'll give you plenty of alternatives in the observations ;-)

Ingredients

Noodles:

  • 2.8 oz instant noodles (1 packet)
  • 2 cups water

Topping:

  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 4.5 oz minced meat (frozen beef in this case)
  • 2.5 oz mushrooms (here brown Shimeji)
  • 1 green onion (or small onion + chives)

Sauce:

  • 1 tsp blond sesame (or black and white)
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. mirin (or cooking sake)
  • 1 tsp honey (or 1 tsp brown sugar)
  • 1/2 clove garlic (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1/2 tsp gochujang (Korean fermented chili paste, can be replaced by sriracha)

Garnish:

  • Green onion (or chives)
  • 1 tsp blond sesame seeds (+/-)

Materials

For cutting vegetables:

  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 knife

To cook the filling:

  • 1 frying pan
  • 1 spatula

To cook the noodles:

  • 1 kettle (or saucepan)
  • 1 airtight container (or bowl + plate)

To eat the noodles:

  • chopsticks (or a fork if you prefer...)
  • soup plate (or large bowl)

Preparation

  • Step 1:

Topping: Drizzle sesame oil into a hot pan. Place the ground steak in the pan and allow to brown.

  • Step 2:

Meanwhile, chop the green onion and set aside.

  • Step 3:

    Chop the mushrooms.

  • Step 4:

Prepare the sauce: combine sesame seeds, soy sauce, mirin (or cooking sake), honey (or brown sugar), crushed garlic clove and gochujang (or sriracha).

  • Step 5:

Turn steak over when golden brown. Boil the water for the noodles.

  • Step 6:

Add the onions (if you like them well cooked, add them after turning the steak, otherwise add them a little later), crumble the meat with a spatula and stir.

  • Step 7:

Place noodles in a large bowl or airtight container. Pour the seasoning sachet over the noodles. Then pour in the water until all the noodles are covered, and cover for 3 minutes (or more, depending on the noodle pack; follow package directions).

  • Step 8:

While the noodles are cooking, add the mushrooms and stir the filling regularly.

  • Step 9:

Drain the noodles and add them to the pan. Add the sauce and stir for a few minutes to combine the ingredients.

  • Step 10:

Serve in a bowl or soup plate, sprinkled with green onions (or chives) and sesame seeds. And it's ready!
